Artist Painting Set | Live Production Opener
This video was created as an opener for Parallel Church’s 2023 Easter production. The concept was based around a lion, and the transition from darkness to light. To achieve this visually, we brought in a local artist Shayla Stickel to paint on set with a canvas that we custom made for the video.

Creating anticipation and intrigue to the Easter Sunday production, this trailer was used on social media to set the stage for the “Live Production” video.
Live Production
In larger view, see our final visuals for the production opener with the livestream smaller in the corner for reference. Cameras were switched in and out of the feed to give viewers a blend of the in-person and online experience.
SET DESIGN
For this video we converted a large shop into a film set to give a raw grungy feel to the video. Haze was added to create atmosphere and a custom canvas was built by our team from scratch to achieve the size we needed.
VISUAL STORYTELLING
The song “In Christ Alone” begins with telling the story of Jesus coming to the cross. A dark time in history that is represented with black paintings of the stations of the cross. These stations of the cross are intentionally placed on the canvas to make up the shape of a lion’s head. As the song progresses, we transition from the sorrow of His death or the victory of his resurrection. At this stage in the video we add colour, the pacing increases, and life is brought into the artwork.
